Allison's Happy Hour

I sure hope to see you at tomorrow's Happy Hour at Allison's Restaurant in Crofton between 5 & 7pm. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. They have a delicious menu if any of you decide (as I have) to stay for dinner too. There will be complimentary appetizers, featuring meats from My Butcher and More. And remember, if you order a Lagoon, the first one is on the house.

AM,

I was kinda hoping for a snow delay, if it was tomorrow (Friday) as opposed to today I'd be enjoying a "Lagoon" with everyone else as opposed to just a snow cone. Now I'm feeling blue --- Carrabas !!! that's it a "Blue Lagoon" sounds like a movie title. Ughhhh !!!!!

Sounds like there's a Brooke Shields fan among us...

Mike said...

AVA,

No, the Brook is what feeds into the Lagoon. Ughhhh !!!!

Ava said...

They just keep flowing, don't they...
I think that Lagoon is probably frozen by now.

Mike said...

AVA,

At least if the lagoon is frozen we can then throw an ice skating party on it. Very solid and very cool entertainment.

BTW I am also a James Bond fan, now where is that Moneypenny ?

Sorry you couldn't make it tonight Mike - and Ava & Money Girl. I was happy to meet Precarious Girl. The food was delicious!
Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to Jim Hamrock, owner of Allison's Restaurant

Sorry to have missed the fun. Who won the door prizes?

AM Kingsfield said...

We only did the Mystery Barstool Prize this time. Rather than a big event every month, we're going to do four biggies a year with some Happy Hours or dance nights in between.

January we are going to all try to get to the Knights of Columbus Hall LA Singles Dance on the 11th. It'll be a great way to burn off some of those holiday calories we've stored up.

AM,

Thanks for the very warm wishes, that in itself made up for a very cold eve. I was at Allison's in spirit even though I was at the Columbia Hilton attending an Office Party. ( you know one of those events where you are sort of expected to show up )

AVO -- I'll be your door prize, if you will be my cigar ( I see a window of oppty here, possibly a threshold event ? ) Guess we'll have to raise that window to clear out all the smoke-------Sigh !!!!!!

I had a great time last night. It was nice to meet some new people. Everyone was so warm and friendly especially AM.

I'm looking foward to kickball and next months Happy Hour. Thanks again for the gift certificate!

Mike --
You've sparked my interest with that opening, and your a-door-able sense of humour.

AVA(AVO),

Ahhhh!!!! another punster.
Touche' you fired one back , but just realize that sparks too can cause fires. Keep up the good work (LOL).

Ava said...

Need to cool off -- I'm heading out to the rink.

Mike said...

Hello AVO,

I can't just let that one "skate by" but there's nothing wrong with sparks or flames either, like in a fireplace vs burning down the house --- warm wishes ( either way ).

Mike said...

AVO,

Had you been at the Titan, James Bond promo a few Saturdays ago, those flying sparks or flames could have even lit up my two cigars ( one during Thunderball and the other to Russia with Love ) R.P. s were on the "menu featured " items but I still like my AVOS.

Smoke gets in my eyes...

Mike said...

Way to go AVO,

The movie "The Blue Lagoon" and now the song "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" Guess I don't need my cigar cutter anymore ( you're just too sharp !! ). BTW I just wanted you to know it that it can be a bad habit, but I enjoy only 1 or 2 cigars/week at most ( just a way for me to unwind on a Friday after a busy work week or else a Sat eve after dinner ) I do not even smoke in my own home, nor do I do so in anyone elses nor in their presence if against their wishes.--- Titan Cigar Lounge is kinda mostly a guy thing -- So No smoke in your eyes, just a ordinary dreamy haze.

Mike said...

Flirting can be so much fun and the mystery-intrigue. Hope that means (eye) don't go up in a puff of smoke, or I may end up being the smoked apple of AVO's eye.

Ava said...

and those Friday evening Martinis -- are they shaken, or stirred?

Mike said...

AVO,

There was almost an instand Bond on that Que. Unlike JB, however; I'm actually not big on Martini's nor any other hard liquor for that matter. I mostly enjoy beer or wine with friends and occassionally with dinner --- the Britt's would refer to that as a "tea totaller". ( So no AA in my past, present or future )

Let's see what else can be stirred ?

Ava said...

cake batter? autumn leaves? emotions? are you stirring the pot?

Mike said...

Anyhow, Its not good to smoke and consume alcohol, there is a synergistic effect leading to higher incidence of developing pharyngeal, esophageal and stomach cancers. So I'd much rather stay in the epiome' of health.

I do try to be like Bill Clinton in only one regard, when I do smoke "I do not to inhale" ( so as to minimize the potential for any lung damage ). So in essence, I liken a very fine cigar more like a stick of incense -- for the pleasant aroma and for the tingling sensations on the tongue, also including the taste buds. It's sort a like a combination peppery, unsweetened cinnimon, honey, chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, caramel, pumpkin pie or allspice spice event all rolled into one.

Ava said...

Sounds like chai-on-a-stick.

Mike said...

AVO,

I don't do leaves, I live in a condo. I only stir up the curiosity, the passion and the immagination. Stirring the "pot" is illegal ( as in hash brownies ) would you settle instead for stirring up a decadent multi layered double chocolate cake ? or does that leaf you shaken and not stirred ?

Mike said...

Better get on the stick, and build that "Bridge over the River Chai" ( my spoof of chai-on-a stick )

Kwai Not ?

Ava said...

mmmmmmm, chocolate. That's the icing on the cake!

Mike said...

AVO,

I do like games of strategy that also "bridge" the mind. Chess ? an open floor plan ?

There could be "two chess nuts boasting in a open foyer" --- Oh well, I had to get something seasonal in there, to spice things up a bit. ---- Pretty good but no cigar, Ehhh ?

Ava said...

Chai-knees checker?

Mike said...

AVO,

You glazed all over me with that one.

I may have just have found my Seoul mate ?

Mike said...

"Chai knees checkers". I'll have to bow down on that one

Ava said...

I am so hungry for pad thai or kim chee or whatever!

Mike said...

AVO.

Now there is some food for thought!!

Perhaps if I played my cards right (padded deck) Tai might even get a dinner date or oppty for Ho Chee out of this one.

Either way you and I are setting this blog record.

Ava said...

dim sum good ideas, Mike.

Mike said...

AVO,

Right now I have been going to too many Holiday functions, rather for now I should be going to Holiday Spa & Fitness Centers ( Gold's Gym ).

Ava said...

I understand, a little extra padding goes with the season.

Mike said...

AVO,

Its called Dunlap disease --- thats when your belly dun lap over your belt. I'm not quite that far yet. I'd rather nip it in the Bud (not Budweiser) early.

Ava said...

AKA "muffin top." According to the weather satellites, this weekend could be good for burning some calories thru snow-shoeing or x-country skiing.

Mike said...

or digging out and clearing off the cars parking spaces etc.

I don't snowshoe or X-country ski but I used to downhill ski.

Mike said...

No muffin top Abs(olutely)not but no more 6 pac abs either

Mike said...

More like: No more 6 pack abs from from nipping too much Bud
( actually I like something a little more Lager )
