Church Singles

Do any of you go to a church that has a good singles support group?

My church has tried to start one, but in a way it's like re-inventing the wheel. There are already some good groups out there.

So ours has just become an e-mail list that goes out every now and then. It seems that church groups oftne have more women than men. I wonder if that has to do with custody arrangements.

Amy,

There is a great fellowship dinner and study at Faith Community Church in Gambrills, every Mon eve at 6:30 PM. Childcare and the meal are each provided. We are located next to the Firehouse at the end of Reidel Rd. where it runs into Rte 3, 301 -- and for your age group there are also more guys than gals --- give us a try.

Thanks for joining the conversation Mike.
My church in Bowie, CCPC, has more single women than men. (Although we have some great men too!) We should have a mixer!

AM,

I had actually visited CCPC when I had first moved to the area about 6 years ago. At the time I temporarily lived in Bowie until my new home was constructed.

A friend and former co-worker -- Roxanne Johnson ( A CCPC member ) invited me to an eve function.

Our Mon Night Dinner is an open event -- we do get visitors from other churches in the area --- bring a friend if you like

Cool. Is it geared toward singles or open to all?

AM,

There are actually 3 separate groups: The Empty Nesters, Single Parents and SPLASH

We all eat together and then break into the subgroups above for the study after desert.

One thing common to all is either being separated, singled, widowed or divorced. The Empty Nesters are all female and over 55, but SP and SPLASH are in their 30's and 40's. for SPLASH the guys outnubmer the gals by at least 2 X 1.

One thing, when you do come --- it will help you to take care of your dietary shortcomings --- no popcorn and no cereal either.

See you next Mon eve starting 6:30 PM --- the event is held in the JR Church ( about midway up the corridor on your right when you enter towards the left ).

Be there and eat square !!!!

I can't come this Monday, my kids dance pictures trump it. But I want to come. I'll try for the next week. I can bring my kids if they want to come then too.

Thanks! I could use a hot meal!

AM,

Better late than never. But dance class pictures are important also

Traditionally, the Mon Night Dinner -- Study does take a break over the summer months ( July and Aug ). So don't procrastinate too long.

And yes everyone is welcome !!

Bring some of your folks to the dance Friday night. I'm going to see if I can get some to come from my church.
It's an easy mixer if we use an established venue.

AM,

I don't think my folks will bite on something like this. Someone usually throws a cookout over the summer months. My back yard is actually too small for this, but as soon as I hear anything, I will let you know.
